bad bank hold your deposit over months without credit in your account, no interest, they don’t want pay you interest , they want your money with 0% interest.

Citizens is just a great CSR experience in every way imaginable (user interface, phone support, etc.) compared to any of these other places on this list. Also, a recognized and positive brand (at least throughout the northeast). I just renewed a 1-year CD with them and highly recommend. (Four 1/2 stars because I wish the rates were further towards to top of this table).

updated review - The bank managed to finally provide the requested document listing the beneficiary after a number of calls. So will add a few stars. The website still needs some work to be more descriptive of the transfer information. It is pretty useless as all it has is generic info with no bank information listed under the source of the transfer. Pretty mediocre for a bank listed as having over 160 billion in assets.

I had high hopes that this account would work out. No problems with opening and funding it with 5K deposit. However trying to get to a printable beneficiary document attached to the online account is a real hassle. They say 2 to3 days to do this which is a bogus claim. I figured why keep even 5K in this bank if they cannot fulfill this basic task? So I submitted a transfer out leaving only one dollar in the account. On the plus side, this bank has a very quick ACH transfer out as the 5K showed up in the external account the next day. The plan was to keep 250K in this account to earn some interest. However, if they fail on the beneficiary document will just end up closing it. Not going to deal with this crap and will leave the money in Marcus and make less interest but at least there is a beneficiary showing on the account. Because I think the ease of managing the beneficiary is the most important criteria they deserve no stars. However, with the ACH transfer speed they still get a 1/2 a star.

Worse website of any online bank. Transactions are NOT identified except by amount. When several transactions like deposits or transfers are made they are only identified by monetary amounts with no names to ID source. It's a guessing game and you need to call customer service to find out details of the transactions. No problem if you make a single transaction but if more than one, then good luck trying to figure out what went where or where what came from. Absolutely no details provided except for the amount. Closing my new account asap! Not worth all the aggravation for their lack of adequate record keeping.

Through the years I experimented with the leading online brands to find the best mix of quality, reliability and competitiveness. I thought Purepoint was the best, and Citizens was second, but Purepoint seems to be going out of business so I am moving everything here!

I've had accounts with all the most recognized banks on this list. CItizens Access is the best. Followed closely by Purepoint and then my Marcus. The others have awful websites (CIT, Synchrony) or awful customer service (Sallie Mae, Cap1, Synchrony again). I have nothing to gain personally from saying this, but if where the rates are close, chose this one.

I cannot say enough good things about this. I was hesitant to move my account over from another well known bank, but the CD rates were much higher and I wanted to put some of my cash in savings and some in CDs so I moved it all over. I wish I had moved it over earlier. The website is just so easy to use!

I agree they have a brilliant easy to use website. The best ever. None of the others come close. I especially love their transparency in which case you can view daily your interest rate. Some of the sites do not even show you anything until the end of the month once a month.

I have been very pleased with this online bank so far. I thank this website for showing it to me when it was first launched. I also had an account at Synchrony which I just finally closed. The rate at CitAccess is much higher and the website is much easier to use.

I have had many of these accounts over the years. My best experiences were with Ally and my worst were always with Synchrony. The bank that is now called Marcus is great because they won't charge you a fee for anything. This is the same, but easier to use and offers higher rates.

Just moved my money from BOA to Citizens Access savings account. Huge difference in favor of CA. I also want to hold off investing until I see what the Feds are going to do with the interest rates in mid December. This will effect CD's etc. The online process was smooth. Customer service has been very accessible each time I've called the past few days. All great for now. P.S. Consider the Arbitration Agreement: I opt out and sent a letter signed to them. Mail it certified. Read the fine print.
