Worst experience of my life. Did not fund and gave $25 to my own charity.

I tried to deal with this and ended up wishing I had never heard of it. Got caught in the scam of giving $25 to a charity. After 2 months of dealing with a broken transfer system, a broken website and a phone which either rang on and on or hit some woman's VM, I managed to close the account and get my money back. Never got a penny in interest. Never got confirmation of the $25 transfer to charity. Celebrated my freedom by sending $25 to my favorite charity (not on their list). Farewell to this. Would give negative stars if I could.

Total scam - like others have mentioned, online and apps barely work (read: don't work) which is a serious problem when they are an online only bank. Crazy requirements for doing ANYTHING like written forms that nobody replies to, to do anything simple. Don't waste your time with this backward, scammy "bank"

All kinds of surprises with this bank that I didn't realize upon signing. I am with other online banks that are not so restrictive. First of all, I didn't realize I couldn't withdraw any funds until they send me a form I must sign and give back to them (which I am still waiting on) so my money is locked in there. Furthermore, the account can only be linked with one other account at a time. I guess that's fine, but when I decided to change the account it would be linked with, I found out I cannot change the linked account within the first 60 days so my fund are locked in there for the time being. I plan to close the account and move the funds into other online banks that are less restrictive.

Go ahead. Do it. Open an account here because it is the highest savings rate today. You'll make a couple of cents more than could make at Ally or Synchrony or Barclays or one of the better rated banks. In 2 months, the rates at those places will be higher and you will be struggling to reach someone or get your money back and your credit will be dinged. It isn't the same type of easy-to-deal-with operation. But, go on!

I cannot say enough about this bank. None of it is good. They rejected me for a savings account (imagine that- They did a hard credit pull and rejected me!). I called to discuss the situation. They reversed their decision while I waited. I stupidly went forward and funded the account because the rate was listed as the best here and on other sites. It has been a nightmare since. I was actually happier at Wells Fargo earning 0.00001%.

In my 75 years, I have never been denied a savings account (and I have opened many online over the last 20 or so years). I have never been put through a hard credit check either and had my FICO score impacted. I don't care what rate they are offering. Able and Northeast can go to hell!

Opened the account a couple of years ago since I liked the idea of supporting one of their charities with the account. Found the experience difficult, service unprofessional. Finally got the account closed and my money moved out. Next time I will just make a direct contribution to the charity.

I had a similar experience at this place as I had at Radius. They did a hard credit pull and asked me 5 questions to verify my credit, none of which I could answer. I would avoid all of these dinky Massachusetts banks trying to play in the online banking space and stick with places like Ally, CIT, Synchrony. It is an entirely different customer experience.
