This bank is no longer offering the best online savings rate in the country.
Ally's OSA rate keeps falling.
CIBC, the Canadian bank that is trying to compete in the US online market, has dropped its online savings rate from 0.62% to 0.52%.
They have also dropped their 12-month CD rate to 0.50%.
They are hoping you will not notice, but they've just lowered the rate again by 5 basis points.
Those FitnessBank account holders who are most active will be able to earn up to 0.70% APY in December (down from 0.85% APY in November). This rate requires 12,500 average daily steps for users under 65 and 10,000 for those over 65.
This is down from 0.50% and a far cry from a year ago when the Emigrant subsidiary offered the most competitive online savings rate in the industry.
The NC-based bank has lowered its online rate to 0.60% APY today, ending a two year period during which its rates alwasy exceeded those of better known online banks.
Marcus has lowered its online savings rate.
Citizens Access is lowering its online savings rate to 0.50% APY this weekend. The rate had previously stood at 0.60% APY.
A nice move from an online bank that was the rate leader until earlier this year.
