Jim Jordan, Congressman from Ohio – Holier Than Thou

Congress is full of performers and light-weights, now more than ever. One, Jim Jordan from Ohio, is someone who loves the spotlight and who lacks much class. He clearly enjoys the special thrill of appearing to be the people’s advocate as he tears into whoever is his prey of the moment. In a recent Congressional hearing, Jordan fully enjoyed bullying and mercilessly attacking Rod Rosenstein.

Well, this holier than thou man has just been unmasked as someone, in an earlier life as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State, who turned a deaf ear to persistent complaints of molestation from kids for whom he was responsible. Worse still, instead of owning up to his failure, he chose to deny any knowledge or culpability.

Not believable Jordan!

Much more believable is that he was too taken with himself and too macho to pay much heed to complaints of molestation by college boys. Indeed, the whole matter was just not manly enough for his personality type, and so he now pretends to know nothing.

My bet is that he gets unmasked fully as the matter is investigated by Ohio State and, in time, by Congress too. There’s some justice here – a big bully running from ugly molestation by a male doctor of college age boys. Perhaps, such a resolution will help leaven Jordan’s brash and macho persona in the future.
