Stellar - Background Information

Stellar has presented itself as an open enterprise blockchain for institutional transactions that is also open to be used by anyone. But the primary objective remains to facilitate large transactions between banks and investment firms that typically would take several days and a number of intermediaries and costs, so that they can now be done nearly instantaneously with no intermediaries.
