All in all, I am glad that I found this bank here, but it is cumbersome to use the online interface. Some days I cannot log on. And I never get a full picture of my account that now has a couple CDs, a MM and a couple of no penalty CDs. Would a simple line with account totals be too much to ask?

Online application only good for opening a CD. I had trouble trying to establish an High Yield Saving Account. Their online application process kept initiating a CD account. I was unable to create a saving account and their service reps were not helpful in providing guidance for me to establish an savings account. Another factor to be aware of is transferring funds to external accounts takes forever to process. The only thing they have going is the high rates on their CD accounts.

Communication fails. I attempted to open an account online. Just reaching a person took way too long, Bank required loan pull from an existing account first--a potential red flag to both my investment company and me. I continued nevertheless, sending all information CFG required. Waited for a week, still very difficult to get anyone to answer phone. In the end, a bank rep informed me my application expired due to...no communication. I lost time and interest income, while the bank personnel never did anything. If a bank can't get a simple application right, or even contact me, I certainly wouldn't trust it with handling my money.

I had been very happy with Purepoint for many years, but I switched over to this place. While the rates are both low, this one is over 50% higher (.66 versus .40). I do not regret moving. It was easy. I just cannot find anything not to like about CFG!

I am happy with he rates and the phone service. The online ability to move money from a savings account to a CD or from a maturing CD back to savings is missing. You need to call. They seem to use their own online system rather than an out of the box system, but you'd think they could easily build that part. It is a minor inconvenience in an experience that is otherwise 5 star.

This is not as easy as some of the others but it is easy. The folks are great and it feels like a hometown bank when I called even though I live on the other coast. I found it on Bestcashcow and I've been with them for over a year now and I appreciate the fact that they have kept the online savings rate competitive.

I was lucky enough to find this bank on Bestcash a few weeks back when I locked into a CD at a much higher rate. It was not the easiest application process but I reached real banker guys and gals in Baltimore who were eager to help (not really an online bank). I would recommend this bank.

I've opened a few CDs and a MM account with no problems. I'd be slightly cautious about the MM transfer limits ($5,000 a day and $30,000 a month), but for me that is fine. Probably not the easiest account opening processes, but well worthwhile. The folks who work there are very personable and will walk you through any issues.

I've tried 3 times to apply online for a simple CD, but I can't get past the questions about previous addresses, etc. The application asks about square footage, mortgage loan amounts, etc. that I can't remember from almost 20 years ago. The process is too frustrating.

Not the smoothest or easiest process. Transfers take 5 days and that is a nuisance and then there are limits. So, it isn't as easy to use as Ally or Synchrony. But, the people are super nice and you feel like you are dealing with a community bank (even though Baltimore is not my community). And the rates are great! Glad I found it here.
