Parent seems to be owned by a large Chilean bank. Not saying this is good or bad, but it is complication, especially in the current environment.

Bank is owned by a Florida bank and yet I wasn't able to open an account because I live in Florida. Go figure!

It says: "Please note: TotalDirectBank can conduct business anywhere in the US with the exception of California, Florida, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands." Nice of them to say twice that they won't do business with people from PR!

More than a handful of annoying things but I finally go the account opened. It won't work for you if you live in Florida, California, Hawaii, Guam, etc.
