CIBC US is a the US division of the large Toronto-based Canadian bank. The parent bank has a poor climate rating.
Advantages
- The Agility Online Savings account has a competitive online savings rate.
- Although the bank has branches in some areas bordering Ontario, it is principally an online bank in the US.
Disadvantages
- Savings and CD rates are often tiered, requiring larger deposits to earn the best rates.
- Online and phone customer service is generally ranked poorly.
- CIBC's online accounts are not fee free and the bank will charge its own fee (in addition the the ATM fee) for using out-of-network ATMs.

easy to work with but the rate isn't competitive. not even the leading savings rate banks are competitive versus short us treasuries.
