American Women, American History will Not Forget!

#MeToo and all of the strides women have made in recent years are about to fall for want of two women in America on whom so much rests and who now appear not to have the ”cajones” to save contemporary women’s rights, roles and just future for at least the next half century. I am talking, of course of Lisa Murkowski, Republican Senator from Alaska and Susan Collins, Republican Senator from Maine. A huge weight rests on the shoulders of these two women, but regrettably it does not look as though they are up to history’s challenge.

Voting yea or nea for Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court in the next days is the most important responsibility resting on these two women senators for now and for many decades ahead in this new Century and for the 125.9 million adult American women (50.8% of the adult population). This is not just any Senate vote, this is one that will give back to American men (and take away from American women) the full rights and responsibilities to make key decisions about women’s bodies. It is, in effect, a huge step backward and a return to the ugly past when men made all decisions about women and their bodies.

There will not be a vote like this again for decades, if not a century. These two Republican women must not fall back on their sense of presumed responsibilities only to represent those in their states. They shoulder, rather, the full weight of all women in this country as they vote in the next few days in the Senate on a vote to change the balance in the Supreme Court in favor of male dominance and old religious tenets.

This is an absolutely historic moment for the country, and every indication suggests that Murkowski and Collins will make a short term partisan decision and, by so doing, hugely let down all American women and many American men in the days ahead.

They are spinless. Even Flake has a spine. It is really outrageous that they don't back the women's movement, especially after what they did to Al Franken.

If these two don't vote against Kav and do the right thing, they should have their vaginas sewn shut.
