Harvard announced that Mohamed El-Erian is leaving as President of Harvard Management Co., the group that managed Harvard's $34.9 billion endowment. Harvard Management's former head Jack Meyer left amid some controversy over pay for Harvard managers. Pay was reduced and now managers are walking. El-Erian generated an impressive 23% return in the most recent fiscal year. Harvard will need to pay top notch or see its managers continue to leave.
