Some of the most competitive rates on CDs and IRA CDs can be found at New York’s Geddes Federal Savings and Loan Association. Customers can expect a 2.25% APY on a regular CD for a 25-month certificate. Here is the breakdown of other terms and rates as well:
• 20-month term CD at 2.15% APY
• 13-month term CD at 1.70% APY
If you choose an IRA CD instead of a traditional CD, here is what you can expect:
• 13-month IRA CD at 2.20% APY
• 25-month IRA CD at 2.75% APY
To qualify for these rates, customers must have a minimum deposit of $500. In addition, the accounts are only open to residents or businesses that are located within 150 miles of the Syracuse, New York location of the bank. As a result, it may include Albany, but New York City residents and businesses are just outside the parameters of this offer.
Another interesting thing to note is that this bank is offering 2.00% APY for accounts with at least $50,000. Unfortunately, these accounts are only paying 1.00% APY for balances that are between $1,000 and $50,000.
Geddes Federal Savings and Loan Association has been a member of the FDIC since 1949.
